This past summer, my husband and I packed up our two wee ones, our dog and all of our belongings and moved from Brooklin to beautiful Muskoka. With a passion for exploring, it’s no surprise that I love discovering new places, hiking, and wandering about freely with my clients. One of the first photoshoots I had in my new hometown was this fun, Muskoka forest engagement hike.
Angel and Jesse found me on social media and I’m so glad they reached out! We hit it off immediately and took off for a hike through the forest to shoot their engagement photos. They brought their three adorable sons along, which made for a much more playful, fun and natural session! Their boys are, after all, a huge part of the relationship and bond they share, which is what I always hope to capture.
I love living amidst all this natural beauty; the Canadian Shield is something to behold! In autumn, the way the green colours of the mossy rocks contrast against the tanned tones of the tall grass is breathtaking. It’s worth mentioning that I’m a fan of earth tones! So for me, the backdrop I now call home is pretty much a dream.
Angel and Jesse exchange their vows next summer in Muskoka, and they’ll be overlooking his family’s native reserve, surrounded not only by their three boys, family and friends, but also one hell of a landscape.
What I loved about this shoot:
- they were totally in love and loved holding hands
- their kids came first and it showed, they made them a part of their engagement photos
- the kids were fun and adventurous, they made the experience extra special
- it was a bonding experience for the whole family
