Arrowhead Skating Trail Engagement Shoot

I’m still brought to tears of laughter after shooting this Arrowhead skating trail engagement shoot. I’ll get to that though…Lindsey and Derek found me online and we hit if off immediately. Their love of nature, hiking and adventure made us a perfect match.

They met in their second year at McMaster University through mutual friends and connected over their love of adventure and travel. They love hanging out at home as well, homebodies anyone! I can totally relate to this. I love getting my travel fix, but you’ll almost always find me at home on a Friday evening, sipping tea on the couch, in my pj’s!

Get this, Derek proposed after a hike and picnic to Dundas Peak in Hamilton! Dundas Peak is absolutely beautiful. If you haven’t been, you MUST Go! It was on our 2016 family bucket list and we were so happy we got to take the kids there. We didn’t do all the trails with the kids, but it would be the perfect date day adventure! Tews Falls and Websters Falls are close by and also worth the hike.

So back to the reason why this shoot was hilarity…Literally 5 mins after meeting Lindsey and Derek, at the beautiful Arrowhead Provincial Park, Derek went to warm his hands by the fire pit. The wind changed direction and bam! Derek singed his eyebrows, eyelashes and hair!! I should say, both Lindsey and I felt so bad for him, but we died laughing! Hysterical! I mean, I can’t make this stuff up. He was such a good sport though. He laughed it off and we continued to have a great time…with a little less hair. Wedding speech material anyone! =)
